Fugee HiEd Launches Two New Programmes to Empower Refugee Youth

Navigating your educational and career pathways can be challenging, especially as a young refugee or stateless person. At Fugee, we are committed to providing the guidance and opportunities you need to build a successful future. The Fugee HiEd team are thrilled to announce two upcoming programmes designed to help you gain clarity, develop new skills, and connect with a supportive community.

1. Entrepreneurship Programme for Refugee & Stateless Youth

Have you ever dreamed of starting your own business? Join our exclusive 6-week, in-person Entrepreneurship Programme designed to help you learn how to build and grow a business from the ground up. This programme is a collaboration between Fugee HiEd and Bilal Khiyani, a soft skills trainer with over a decade of experience empowering people and brands.

The sessions will be held every Saturday from July 19 to August 23, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the IDEAS International School in Cheras, with lunch provided. This programme is open to refugee, asylum seeker, and stateless youth aged 18 to 35. To ensure it's a good fit, a short 15-minute interview is required after you sign up.

2. "Choose Your Lane": Refugee Education and Career Pathway Fair

Not sure what’s next for you—whether it's school, university, or work? Our "Choose Your Lane" event is a fun and interactive way to find your direction. This "speed-dating"-style event will help you engage in brief but impactful conversations with the Fugee HiEd team and various learning institutions.

The event is designed to help you connect with our team, better understand our services, and gain clarity on your educational and career options.

Here's what you can expect:

Booth Area: A pathways fair with booths from institutions that can inform you about GED, A-Levels, vocational pathways, coding, and universities that accept refugees. You'll get a personalised "Quest Map" to guide you based on your interests.

Speed Counselling: Get a dedicated 7-minute, one-on-one session with a Fugee HiEd team member to better inform you of your next steps.

This event is for refugee youth aged 15 to 35. Join us on Sunday, July 27, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 2:00 PM at Sembilan Inci Cafe.
